General
Needle pricks from within outwards in chest; also on forehead, right side. Sticking behind ear. Difficult respiration. Skin chafed about genitals.
Leucoderma and squamous syphilides. Sciatica and pain around the knee.
Relationship
Arsenic sulph rub (influenza with intense catarrhal symptoms, great prostration and high temperature, purulent discharges, psoriasis, acne, and sciatica. Chilly even before a fire. Itching in various parts. Pellagra).

Characteristics
The two sulphides of Arsenic , Orpiment and Realgar , have been used in a somewhat general way in cases combining prominent symptoms of both elements; but independent observations and provings have been made with the two salts. Orpiment has the burning pains and sensations of both Arsenic and Sulphur ; stitching, tearing, and rheumatic pains moving from place to place. Lameness, staggering, trembling. Spasms, colic, vomiting, and diarrhœa. Annoying twitching. General debility. Chafing of skin about genitals and behind ears of children. Skin itching, dry, cracked; rhagades; itch. Jaundice. The periodicity of both Arsenic and Sul . are marked: < every afternoon and evening. > From steam or hot water. > Lying down.
Relations

Mind
Intense torturing anxiety and apprehension.
Head
Needle-like stitches in r. frontal region.
Mouth
Taste bitter. ─ Tongue furred, yellow-white; stiff; swollen; later, dry with disgust for all nourishment. ─ Mouth and throat dry, herpetic ulcers.
Stomach
Burning and gnawing in stomach, with vomiting and diarrhœa.
Stool and Anus
Stools like water, green and slimy and terribly offensive. ─ Diarrhœa daily 8 a.m. and several times during day, but not at night. ─ Diarrhœa, with colic and backache and tenesmus.
Male Sexual Organs
Gonorrhœa, with terrible pains; discharge copious, yellow, constant; burning day and night along entire urethra, with restlessness.
Skin
Eruption on outer side of l. wrist; also on inner side.
Sleep
Starting in sleep, also in falling asleep; as if he would fall out of bed. ─ Restless at night, excited; dreams with seminal emissions.

Hahnemann published in his Materia Medica a single short proving, by Langhammer, one of the most trustworthy provers. Some reports of effects by the Old School physicians are given in Allen's Encyclopædia, vol. 1, p. 556 ; also a symptom observed by Hencke.
Mind
Intense and torturing anxiety and apprehension greatest apprehension after a swoon.
Mind clearer than previously.
Sensorium
When walking he felt as if dancing up and down, as if he must fly.
Great weakness in head.
Vanishing of thought.
Inner head
Throbbing stitches in right frontal region.
Headache in middle of forehead, drawing and stinging.
Pain deep in, in left forehead, situated back of inner corner of eye and higher than eyebrow ; it extends towards left and deeper in, like a curve or drawn bowstring.
After drinking beer, pain above occiput in both sides ; violent pressure in two places, right and left side symmetrical.
Nausea, with neuralgic pains about head, when rising ; > while lying down.
Headache, nausea and vomiting of a whitish fluid ; extremities covered with cold sweat.
Serous apoplexy.
Outer head
External needle-like stitches in right frontal region.
Tearing pain from parietal to frontal region.
On stroking hair on occiput, a tensive feeling behind right ear, as if something stuck there and pressed it forward.
Sight and eyes
Gum in canthi.
Hearing and ears
Tensive feeling behind right ear on stroking hair.
Upper face
Forehead cold.
Teeth and gums
Teeth pain as if loose, when chewing food.
Taste, speech, tongue
Taste bitter.
Tongue : furred, yellow white ; stiff, immovable ; swollen later dry, with disgust for all nourishment.
Inner mouth
Mouth and throat dry.
Pustules or herpetic ulcers, of a phagedenic character.
Palate and throat
Loss of appetite.
Hiccough, belching, nausea and vomiting
Nausea at noon after a meal ; and vomiting, with pain in stomach and abdomen ; diarrhœa and thirst.
Violent, persistent vomiting.
After vomiting offensive bile, was relieved.
Scrobiculum and stomach
Cramp in stomach, with fainting, colic, vomiting, diarrhœa. θ Gangrene of bowels.
Burning and gnawing in stomach, with vomiting and diarrhœa.
Indigestion.
Hypochondria
Violent griping, with convulsions.
Violent colic, as from a cold, morning on awaking.
Abdomen puffed ; blue spots in fundus of stomach ; reddish-brown erosions.
End of ileum more inflamed than duodenum.
Sensation as if diarrhœa would set in.
Stools and rectum
Stools like water, green and slimy, and terribly offensive.
Diarrhœa daily at 8 A. M. and several times during day, but not at night.
Diarrhœa with colic and backache and tenesmus.
Male sexual organs

Respiration
Respiration difficult.
Indescribably unpleasant feeling, with oppression ; everything feels too tight, < about hypochondria ; ending in sweat.
Cough
Cough from tickling in throat ; with pain in left side ; soreness on chest ; with heat in left chest and face, circumscribed red cheeks.
Cough with soreness in chest and between shoulders.
Catarrhal cough with pains in chest and rattling.
Heart, pulse and circulation
Lungs overfilled with blood.
Needle-like stitches from within out in right side of chest.
Yellow serum in pericardium.
Pulse : frequent, hard, then small and thready ; slow, suppressed, quick, and scarcely perceptible.
Neck and back
Backache confining him to bed (with caries of sternum and cough. Sulphur partly cured caries, Psorin. cough, and Arsen. sulph. backache and remaining caries).
Pain in lumbar vertebræ when moving.
Upper limbs
Eruption on outer side of left wrist ; also on inner side, after Sulphur. (Sulphur did not cure, Arsenic-sulph. did).
Lower limbs
Pain in left knee, with chronic asthma.
Knees pain and totter.
Pain above left ankle bone.
Feet burn.
Limbs in general
Severe pain, now in toes, now in shoulders ; now here, now there, ending with sweat.
Rest. position. motion
Children are slow in learning to walk.
Worse when rising : neuralgic pains about head.
Better lying down : neuralgia in head.
When moving : pain in lumbar vertebræ.
Nerves
General debility.
Nerves severely affected.
Annoying twitching of thirty years' duration.
Spasms, colic, vomiting, diarrhœa, heat and thirst next day.
Faints after a convulsion.
General feeling of lameness, staggering, trembling ; all strength is gone.
Limbs paralyzed ; has itch and dropsy.
